About Schmidt Education
Hi! I am an educator with more than twenty-five years in education, both private and public. I have been certified in four states as a teacher, administrator or both. So, how did I get here?
I have spent most of my life recreating/reinventing my career due to moves for my husband. Sometimes it was difficult but it has also been rewarding. I have been involved in education across the United States, and experienced different strategies, terminology, and legal requirements. In short, I’ve learned a lot!
How Schmidt Education was Created
For the past seven years, I have worked as an independent contractor (I can work from anywhere!) coaching administrators and teachers in research-based best practice for instruction, curriculum, student teaming, and the importance of strong instructional leadership to move teachers forward.
I created Schmidt Education because I am passionate about education and want to share what I have learned over the years and, ultimately, coach schools/districts to improve student achievement.
I live in Round Rock, TX (near Austin) with my husband. I have two children who live nearby, and am lucky to be grandma (sometimes memah, bebop, or whatever the youngest decides to call me) to four beautiful grandchildren.
